Resident Marlyn Lawrence got her wish to ride in a motorcycle one last time as part of her 94th birthday celebration at The Briarwood in Stow. Marlyn rode in style in the sidecar of a 2007 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, driven by volunteer and bike owner Don Sombati.
Friends, family and Briarwood staff attended the birthday party to celebrate Marlyn, who was an avid motorcyclist for most of her life. Stow Mayor Sara Kline presented Marlyn with a proclamation at the event, which was coordinated with the help of Aseracare Hospice and sponsored by Harley Davidson. The birthday celebration was part of The Briarwood’s ongoing life enrichment programming, which features special events and daily activities for residents and short-stay clients on the healthcare campus.
The Briarwood cherishes each of its residents and all of their many milestones. Celebrating Marlyn’s 94th year with cake, music and a motorcycle parade was a fun way to honor Marlyn and the impact she’s had on so many in our community.
